my mother lived in Kansas City.
The creek has a dark slate bed
and fall color was showing all
around.

melt flow vigoriusly out of the
high country. This particular
scene doesn't exist in reality but
in my mind.

I have had fine fishing and
painting days here where the
air is fresh and the stream
runs clear over a sand and
gravel bed.

We were camped at Green
River Lakes in Wyoming.
Nearby was an old cabin ruin
and a great view of distant
mountains.

I used to think of Bodie,
California, as a dry, dusty,
windblown place until I was there
during a shower with water
running down the street. Quite a
difference!
