These paintings are from a recent period when I explored the world of
seashells. I find the shapes of the shells and the geometry of the spiral
constructions to be fascinating.

Using Photoshop Elements to develop a composition

Various seashell shapes were
selected, posterized using filters, and
pasted into an arrangement designed
as a starting point for developing a
painting.

on canvas 16" x 20".
As the painting developed, many changes took
place in order to create a cohesive, less
fragmented composition.
